Everything stays folded until the user needs it. Rung 7 is the actual visual proof: the PNG the user can inspect before anything is handed to AI.

“Watch AI as it watches you” means the shared area never disappears into a black box. The source and measurement remain visible to the user.
Draw directly on the source. Every box stays on the page. Click a box to select it again, drag it to move it, use its corner handles to resize it, or press + New box to draw another. Every rectangle is stored in source pixels.
Control + Arrow moves by 1 source pixel. Command + Arrow changes the box size by 1 source pixel. Add Shift for a 10-pixel step.
Add a short note before exporting, such as “button is 12 px too low” or “measure this opening.” The numbers explain where; the note explains why.
The capture is generated locally from the measuring board. The user can inspect it before it becomes an AI attachment.
This is the inspection point: the image, measurement box, coordinates, and note are all visible together.
Build a compact handoff that tells the receiving AI exactly what the selected rectangle means. On supported devices, the system Share sheet can carry the text and PNG together.
Privacy is a feature, not a warning.
The product should keep repeating four simple facts:
1. ChooseYou select the source.
2. WatchYou see what is in frame.
3. InspectYou see the PNG before handoff.
4. SendNothing leaves until you act.
A helper, not a hidden observer.
The moving eyes can follow the pointer and blink, but the interface never pretends it can see more than the user has deliberately provided. That makes the character feel alive without making the privacy story creepy.
